I Have a Website!

It’s official!  I have launched my website!  With the integrated blog on there, it’s unlikely that I will continue to post on my Tumblr as my primary blog, so make sure to follow my blog on my website to be kept up to date.

Some Changes in 2012

As the new year quickly approaches, I wanted to make all past and potential future clients aware of some changes that I will be making so it doesn’t come as a total surprise.  To keep it simple, I’ll put them in bullet form below.

- I will be requiring a deposit in order to hold your scheduled shoot time.  I accept PayPal, cash and check.  The remainder of the session fee will be due at the time of the session - this means studio and outdoor sessions.

- I will no longer be posting all shots from our session on my Facebook page.  I’ll put up a few for you to use as profile photos, etc., but the rest will be located on my Zenfolio page once they are ready.

- You may have already noticed, but I’ve started placing my watermark/logo in more obvious places on my photos.  This isn’t done to be obnoxious.  I’ve tried the whole putting it in the corner so it doesn’t obstruct the photo thing and asked that folks not crop out the logo, but that hasn’t always worked out in the past, so I’ve started placing it in places where it can’t easily be cropped.  I’d like to think that if you’re using the photo as a profile picture or what have you, you like my work enough that you might recommend me to other people.  Having my info there helps people know who I am.  :)  Obviously, if you purchase a photo from me, it won’t have the watermark on it.

- I’m planning to remove the download option and in many circumstances I most likely won’t be offering digital copies of my photos anymore.  I’ve seen far too many situations where a nice photo is taken to a local photo lab (Wal Mart, CVS, Target, etc.) and looks nothing like it should.  While I realize that money is tight for many (myself included), when you order the photos directly from me, you can rest assured that it will look great, something you’re not necessarily guaranteed by printing it elsewhere.  I also have to consider that if someone sees one of my photos and it’s printed badly, this will most likely reflect on me as well.

- My prices will be changing in 2012, so if you booked a session with me in 2011, be prepared for new pricing.  If you book a session with me before the end of this year, even if it’s in 2012, you’ll still get this year’s pricing though, so contact me ASAP if you’re interested!

- I plan to offer some great incentives if you’re a current or past client who recommends me to a new client, so stay tuned for more info on that!

- I’ve begun giving current/past clients a free cover for the new Facebook timeline layout with photos from their session.  This is a little gift from me to you for booking a session with me.  I hope this is something that I can continue to offer in the future if there’s a lot of interest in it.

Had a blast shooting this little lady for her first birthday/Christmas today!  A few of my favorite shots are up on my page, but I have a lot more to go through.  The rest will be ready over the next few days.

Ordered a 50mm f/1.8 lens last night!  I should have it by the end of the week.  Can’t wait to start shooting with it!

I have a studio shoot with Kylie this afternoon and we’ll be doing some 1st birthday photos.  I’m excited!  We’re going to be doing a cupcake smash, so stay tuned for some shots from that session!
